Yet despite the price pressure from clients, the effects of recession and growing competition from online conveyancers and panels over 60% of firms have taken no steps to diversify into other areas. Those who have, have mostly gone into probate and litigation.
Estate agents are fretting about Tesco and Google entering the property selling market. Tesco could even decide to offer conveyancing, which will be a watershed for the profession and will make a huge impact on the market.
